Division 4 League

Daingean travelled to Rhode on Friday evening to take on Rhode intermediates in the 4th round of the division 4 league. Daingean played against the wind in the first half and put in a solid performance to lead by 0-8 to 0-5 at half time. Rhode came back strongly in the second half to narrow the gap down to a solitary point but that was just enough for Daingean to hold on for a 0-11 to 0-10 victory. The lads will be disappointed with the second half performance considering they had the benefit of a strong wind but happy to see out the win and collect 2 points which gives us a great chance of getting to the league final. Team: Conan Curley, Dallan Goulding, Colm Brophy, Colm O'Shea, Alan McEvoy, Danny Mangan, Stephen Byrnes, David Walsh, Cathal Egan, Ciaran McEvoy, Jamie Hayes, Ryan Duffy, Johnny McGrath, Charlie Hayes and Conleth Carey. Subs used David Feely and Jake Naughton. Daingean will face Kilclonfert in their final league match. The winner will most likely progress to the league final.

 

New arrival

Huge congratulations and best wishes to Conleth Carey and Jenny Lynch on the arrival of their son Sean Og. We're not sure whether Sean Og will be a postman or footballer yet but time will tell. Best wishes for the future to all three and looking forward to seeing Conleth back in the field again soon.

 

Daingean GAA Golf Classic

The Daingean GAA golf classic was launched last week in Castlebarna Golf Club. The golf classic takes place on the 22nd and 23rd of July. Entry for the classic is €120 for a group of four which also includes a meal afterwards and some great prizes to be won.
