Under 14 Hurlers
First lose of the year last Friday for our U14 hurlers second team. Short the service of a handful of vital players. The Blues lost 2:05 to 7:05 to Kinnity, this leaves a three way play off in the final standings. Lots done, more to do.

Under16 Footballers

Tullamore U 16s came out on the losing side in their group game away to Ballycumber /Tubber on Sunday on  a scoreline of 1-9 to 1-5.

The Blues were the match of their opponents in every department except the one that matters- the scoreboard.

Tullamore played some really attractive football at stages in the first half and shaded things in the possession stakes, and put in some great defensive work,  but unfortunately wayward finishing left them behind 0-5 to 0-2 at the break. The points came from Jamie O'Reilly and Shane Martin.

Ballycumber /Tubber struck for an early second half goal and followed with a point. But they held their nerve and replied when Aaron Malone beat the goalkeeper to Myles Maloney's long delivery to goal. Further points from Tom Furlong and Myles Maloney (2) were answered by the opponents as Tullamore tried to bridge the gap. The lads never gave up and were denied a goal at the death when a 13 metre free was saved and the referee blew the final whistle with the score at 1-9 to 1-5. All is not lost as this group of lads are still in a good position and have plenty of football left to play this year.

Panel on the day: Sean Robbilliard, Mikey Lynam, Brian Finn, Dylan Hensey, Kevin Kelleher, Diarmuid Egan, Patrick Fahey, Myles Maloney, Jamie O'Reilly, Joe Dwyer, Shane Martin, Tom Furlong, Jason Hogan, Aaron Malone, James Dwyer, Robbie Hand, Michael Feeley, Jack Mitchell, Alex Guilfoyle, John Deegan, Aaron Coyne.

Senior Football

Both our Senior and Intermediate football teams had good wins over the weekend, our seniors beating St Brigid's 7:13 to 0:03 and our intermediate beating Shannonbridge 4:09 to 0:07. That's two good wins out of two for both teams in seven day, especially our young Intermediate team that have beaten a strong Rhode and Shannonbridge. Our Senior hurlers are playing Ballinamere on Friday at 7pm in O Connor Park.
