JUNIOR B FOOTBALL CHAMPIONSHIP
Raheen Junior Footballers will count themselves both lucky and unlucky as they had to settle for a draw with Durrow in the 3rd Rd of the Junior B Championship last Sunday morning in Durrow on a scoreline of 1-09 apiece. Raheen opened the scoring with the first 2 points before Durrow got off the mark with a goal on 6 mins followed by a point. Durrow were superior for the remainder of the half as they added 5 points to Raheen's 3 before Raheen got a 45  in stoppage time which keeper Mark Byrne came up and slotted it over. This left just the goal in it at the break 1-06 to 0-06. The first 15 mins of the second half saw both sides add 2 points apiece. Then on 21 mins Ian Buckley intercepted a Durrow clearance and sent in a shot which was blocked down by the keeper where it was taken by Liam Gorman who struck it to the net for the equalising goal and Raheen went in front with 5 mins left when Conor McNally pointed a free. Then in the last min Raheen had a free just inside the Durrow half which was taken quickly where it was broken down and Durrow worked it upfield to knock over the equaliser. NA FIANNA GAA FOOTBALL CLUB

G.A.A CLUB NOTES
DATE: 25 MAY 2015

U16 FOOTBALL CHAMPIONSHIP
Na Fianna U16 Footballers suffered their second defeat in the Championship as they lost out to Ballinamere / Durrow in Rd 3 last Monday week in Geashill on a scoreline of 3-07 to 0-11 and in doing so enacting some revenge for Na Fianna's win against them in the U16 Quarter Final last year. Playing against the wind in the first half Na Fianna were undone by the concession of 3 goals which saw them trail at the break 3-06 to 0-05 but would have been further behind but for a fine penalty save by keeper Ryan Kinahan. In the second half Na Fianna slowly began to claw their way back into it as they scored 5 points without reply by the midpoint of the half to cut the deficit to 5 points but for the remainder of the game both sides could only manage 1 more point apiece and so B/D held on to claim the win.

MINOR FOOTBALL CHAMPIONSHIP
Na Fianna Minor Footballers began their Championship campaign with defeat to Ballycumber / Tubber in Rd 1 last Wednesday evening in Ballycumber on a scoreline of 4-11 to 1-09. Na Fianna found themselves on the backfoot straight from the off as Ballycumber / Tubber got off to a lightning start scoring 2-03 to Na Fianna's 2 points after just 5 mins. Only 1 point for Na Fianna followed until the last 5 mins of the half when B/T scored 1-01 before Na Fianna came back scoring 1-03 with the goal coming just on the stroke of half time when Ray Daly intercepted a kickout inside the 45 and following a few quick passes he claimed it back in the square before firing it to the net. This left just 4 points in it a the break 3-04 to 1-06. Na Fianna did score the first 2 points of the second half but B/T responded first with 2 points followed by their 4th goal on 10 mins which killed off any hope of a comeback. Thereafter B/T finished the game comfortably scoring 5 points to Na Fianna's 1.
