U14 FOOTBALL FEILE LEAGUE
Na Fianna U14 Footballers made it 2 wins out of 2 in the Feile League with another comprehensive win against Kilcormac / Killoughey last Wednesday evening in Geashill on a scoreline of 5-14 to 2-05. K/K opened the scoring with 2 pointed frees before Na Fianna got off the mark with their 1st goal on 6 mins when Lee Mulpeter made a run down the wing before passing to Ross Plunkett in the square who planted it into the net. This set Na Fianna on their way as they tapped over 4 points in a row before getting their 2nd goal on 18 mins when Glen Hassett sent in a high ball from midfield caught by Emmett Curley in the square who rounded the full back and cracked it to the net. Na Fianna added their final 2 points of the half either side of a breakaway goal for K/K which gave Na Fianna a healthy lead of 2-06 to 1-02 at the break.Na Fianna ran in their full quota of subs from the start of the second half but they continued on from where they left off as Jacob Beatty pointed from the restart and then won a penalty on 7 mins which Mark Dillon duly converted for goal no 3. 4 more points for Na Fianna followed before 2 of the subs Morgan Tynan & Dylan McDermott showed their prowess as they got in to score goals 4 & 5 midway through the half. U16 FOOTBALL LEAGUE SEMI FINAL
Na Fianna U16 Footballers put in a brilliantly skillful display and can feel extremely proud as they pushed hot favorites St Broughans all the way in their Div 1 League Semi Final last Thursday evening in Geashill but it was St Broughans who just scraped over the line eventually after extra time to claim the win on a scoreline of 1-21 to 3-13.Na Fianna were first off the mark with a point but St Broughans opened their account with a goal on 5 mins before Na Fianna scored their first goal within a min when Conor Langton's shot from midfield landed at the feet of the keeper where Craig Strong reacted quickest to pick it up and blast it to the net. The next 20 mins saw St Broughans add 6 points to Na Fianna's 3. Then in the final min Na Fianna were awarded a penalty when Ger Plunkett was brought down and Kaelyn Thompson coolly converted for goal no 2 and the lead but deep in stoppage time St Broughans put over a free to draw level at the break 2-04 to 1-07. The second half saw St Broughans add 8 points to Na Fianna's 5 with the lead changing  hands a few times as Na Fianna led by 3 before going behind by 3 and this was the way it stood a minute into stoppage time as sub Conor McGuinness done well to keep the ball in on the sideline before sending through a perfect pass to Conor Langton on the edge of the square who rounded 2 defenders and the keeper before blasting the ball to the net for goal no 3 and the equalizer. From the kickout the final whistle was blown which brought the game into extra time with sides level 3-09 to 1-15. The 1st half of extra time saw Na Fianna first take the lead with a pointed free before St Broughans come back with the next 3 points to lead by 2 at the turnaround 1-18 to 3-10. Again Na Fianna were not giving up as both sides added 2 points apiece inside 5 mins of the second period of extra time before Na Fianna brought the deficit back to the bare minimum when Kaelyn Thompson put over a free with 2 mins left but then in the last min St Broughans broke downfield to score the last point to clinch it with a 2 point margin and their place in the final.
