SHC quarter-final places to be decided

The pairings for the Offaly SHC quarter-finals will be confirmed after this weekend's final round of group matches.

Five of the eight last-eight places have already been filled by three-in-a-row Kilcormac/Killoughey, Coolderry, Seir Kieran, St. Rynagh's and Shinrone. Birr and Ballinamere are in pole position to join St. Rynagh's and Shinrone from Group 1, while the winners of the Belmont v Drumcullen tie will claim the last qualifying place from Group 2.

The weekend's action gets underway this evening in Rath when Kilcormac/Killoughey and Coolderry will battle it out for top spot in Group 2. In the same group tomorrow evening, Seir Kieran and Brosna Gaels will face off at Killeigh, while Belmont and Drumcullen meet in a huge game at Lusmagh.

All three games in Group 1 are slated for 12 noon on Sunday. Shinrone and Ballinamere square up to each other in Birr, St. Rynagh's and Kinnitty meet in Clareen, while Birr and Tullamore clash in Kilcormac.
