JUNIOR HURLING LEAGUE
On Wednesday last the DERMOT HALL Sponsored Edenderry took on a strong Ballinamere side that field a few of their Seniors players eligible to play in Div. 3 of the league. The result did not go the way of Edenderry but it was an excellent work out and great preparation for the Championship this ciming Saturday at home to Gracefield. Jimmy and the lads continue to work hard and improve with every passing week.

U12 GIRLS COUNTY CHAMPIONS 2014
A big well done and huge congrats to the Edenderry ladies Under 12 team who are county 'A' Champions after defeating St. Rynaghs recently in a thrilling game at O'Connor Park. Having negotiated their way through the difficult group stages the girls played beat Naomh Ciaran (Ferbane) in the semi-final before taking ultimate honours against favourites St. Rynaghs.

Edenderry started the game without three of their players Sarah Lynch, Kiah Farrelly and Jenna Comeford who were all unfortunately holiday bound so the task ahead was made that bit more difficult against the hot favourites. The girls have been slow to start most games this year and the final was no different with Rynaghs clocking up a goal and two points before Edenderry registered their first score a point from Maria Doyle. Further scores from Maria (a goal) and Leah Callan (1-2) in the half left the game on a knife edge at half time with just a point separating these two great teams.

In the second half another 1-3 from Leah Callan (who was having the game of her life) and goals from Kellie Oglesby and substitute Saoirse Flanagan left the young reds ahead at the final whistle by seven points with Edenderry winning on a score line of 5-8 to 3-7. Amidst joyous scenes the proud captain Rachel kelleghan received the trophy and after dining in Supermacs in Edenderry the girls celebrated throughout the evening. Having defeated the two stronghold powerhouses of underage football in the semi-final and final this was a wonderful campaign by a very talented group of girls who are very deserving county champions.

They did themselves and their families and club proud and we say a big well done to all of them and indeed to the management team of Niall Comerford, Jade Oglesby, Catherine Jones, Eoin Dunne and Saoirse O'Connell.

Panel for the final was: Tara Dunne, Niamh Flynn, Alicia Kavanagh, Michelle Cullen, Rachel Cummins, Stephanie Williams, Aoife Tyrrell, Rachel Kelleghan (Capt), Maria Doyle, Leah Callan, Chloe Monaghan, Kellie Oglesby, Kaitlin Jones, Molly Furey, Amy Dunne Substitues: Saoirse Flanagan, Saoirse Dunne, Maeve O'Connor, Maeve O'Grady, Sophie Leddin, Hannah Foley, Philippa O'Brien, Chloe Dunne, Amber Fitzpatrick, Irene Hughes, Anna Doyle, Missing: Sarah Lynch, Kiah Farrelly, Jenna Comerford.
