FIXTURES.

On the club fixtures front all else pales into insignificance this weekend with the final of the Greenfield Foods sponsored senior football championship, taking centre stage when Clontibret will seek to dethrone the reigning champions, Scotstown, in Castleblayney, that game getting under way at 4.00 PM. That game is preceded at 2.00 PM by the final of the Maguire Transport minor football championship division 1 between Aughnamullen and Corduff and a game too that is a fitting curtain raiser, albeit a novel pairing, with Aughnamullen determined to prevent Corduff completing the minor double.

UNIVERSAL GRAPHICS JUNIOR FOOTBALL CHAMPIONSHIP.

Blackhill v Toome: Inniskeen: Friday September 30th @ 8.00pm.

The action over the weekend starts tomorrow evening Friday, September 30th with the rescheduled Junior football championship semi final between Blackhill and Toome in Inniskeen, that one starting at 8.00PM.

MHC.

Saturday also sees another final with the final of the minor hurling championship between Carrickmacross HC and Monaghan Harps HC in Clontibret at 2:30 PM.

LEAGUES.

While all that championship action will certainly excite most of the interest there are a couple of league games also down for decision on Sunday. In the senior football league a previously un-played game between Carrickmacross and Latton goes ahead in Carrickmacross while in the intermediate football league Cremartin are at home against Tyholland, both those games at 12 noon. There is one game in the Junior football league cup section which could be a fairly competitive affair when Sean McDermotts take on Eire Og in Threemilehouse, while in the shield section Killeevan are at home against Aghabog and Drumhowan travel to Scotstown, those games also at 12 noon.

ULSTER CLUB HURLING JUNIOR CHAMPIONSHIP.

Inniskeen v Mullahoran St. Josephs (Cavan): Sunday @ 2.00pm.

This Sunday also sees the start of the Ulster club championship programme for Monaghan clubs when the senior hurling champions, Inniskeen, are scheduled to take on the newly crowned Cavan champions Mullahoran St Joseph's, that game in Ballyconnell Sunday starting at 2 PM and extra time mandatory should the sides finish level at the end of normal time. At the time of going to press though there could be a hitch as it is understood that Cootehill have lodged an objection to the constitution of the Mullahoran team and depending on the outcome of that things could change.
