Emyvale Club Notes

August 30, 2016

Minors: It was a great week for our Minor team. Tuesday week last they met Na Mullai Sarsfields in the Division 2 Shield semi-final replay & many thought they had missed their chance the previous week but the lads had other ideas & put in a great performance. They led by six points at halftime & then took their foot off the pedal & allowed the opposition back in to level the scores but a wonder point from Robbie Mc Allister put them back in front & they added another to win by two points to qualify for the final where they met Inniskeen. This was played in Emyvale on Monday evening last & it took Emyvale awhile to settle & they went in at halftime winning on a score line of Emyvale 1:06 Inniskeen 0:05. They pushed on in the second half & dominated most of the play & won on a score line Emyvale 2:13 Inniskeen 0:06. A truly great team performance with every player giving their all & displaying all the skills of the game high fielding, accurate passing, great free taking. This is a well disciplined, skilful team who play lovely football & we hope they will continue to keep playing football with Emyvale for years to come. Congratulations to the team & their joint team managers Enda O'Brien & Brendan Mc Nally; mentors Enda Fields & Padraig Treanor & water boy Seamus O'Neill. Emyvale team & scorers: Eoghan Treanor, Michael Mc Allister, Oisin Campbell, Aaron Sherry, Matthew Mc Quaid 0:1, Aron O'Neill 0:1, Shane Gilbane, Ben Mc Kenna, Ryan O'Neill 0:1, Darragh Boyle 0:1, Michael O'Brien, Robbie Mc Allister 1:6, Jake Ward 1:0, Pauric Duffy, Ryan Kelly. Intermediate Championship: Emyvale met Cremartin in in the Mc Elvaney Waste &

Recycling Intermediate Championship on Saturday evening in Clontibret. This was not one of Emyvale's better performances but they managed to scrape through by the narrowest of margins. Cremartin must feel cheated as they led for most of the match until David Mc Allister rattled the onion bag to put Emyvale in front for the first time near the end of the match & they held on to win & progress to meet Corduff in the quarter final. This game will be played in Drumhowan on Saturday evening with a throw in time of 5.30pm. Please go along & support our team in their quest to advance to the semi-final of this competition.
