Sunday night's Ulster MFC clash with Down is the main Monaghan GAA fixture of the coming week.

ELECTRIC IRELAND ULSTER MINOR FOOTBALL CHAMPIONSHIP.
Monaghan v Down: St. Tiarnach's Park; Clones: Sunday May 29th @ 7.00pm.
At this moment in time we may be experiencing the weather from all 4 Seasons in the space of one day, but proof positive that Summer has arrived can be taken from the fact that the Ulster Championships at minor and senior level are under way and Monaghan's search for minor championship success begins this Sunday evening when they take on Down in Clones at 7.00PM.
Team manager Garrett Coyle says: "We are fortunate too that we don't have any major injury worries although there are a few little niggles but hopefully they will all clear up and we will have a full deck to pick from so that we can field our strongest team and give it our best shot. I cannot stress enough, though, that we face a difficult task against Down, a team that is always capable of producing something special, especially at minor level in the championship but if we play to our potential and play to our strengths we should come through".

FIXTURES
The main interest on the fixtures front this weekend is of course the Ulster minor football championship meeting of Monaghan and Down in Clones on Sunday evening, but there is also a fair degree of activity on the club scene, with one game in the junior football championship on Saturday evening between Oram and Scotstown in Gavan Duffy Park, Monaghan, and a full round of star games spread over Saturday and Sunday in the Junior, intermediate and senior football leagues, with a couple of games in the junior and intermediate football leagues on Wednesday next June 1st.

KILLEEVAN CENTENARY HISTORY
The Killeevan Sarsfields club celebrated its centenary last year with a series of events spread over the 12 months but the final piece of the centenary jigsaw fell into place with the publication and launch of the club history "Killeevan Sarsfields Centenary History 1915 - 2015 and Parish Record" compiled and published by JP Graham and launched officially by Ard Stiurthoir CLG Paraic Duffy. The book traces playing of the games in the area even before the GAA was founded in 1884 and the development of the club from its early days when the great Patrick Whelan was instrumental in amalgamating the two clubs that existed in the parish at that time, Greenans Cross Tir na nOgs and Ture Davitts in 1915 right up to the end of the centenary year, 2015. As well as a comprehensive club history, the book also doubles as a record of the parish of Killeevan, giving an outline of the parish history, a section on education and schools in the parish with a special feature on the oldest primary school that was in operation from 1877 to 1906.
