Minor Football League Division 1 Cup Final

Donaghmoyne staged a dramatic second-half recovery to clinch the minor football league division 1 cup title for the second year in a row when they finished four points ahead of Magheracloone at the end of this rip roaring contest that was brimful of exciting, positive attacking football despite the very difficult weather conditions in Carrickmacross on Tuesday evening. FIXTURES.

The senior and intermediate club Championships again dominate the fixtures programme this weekend with seven games in all down for decision, 4 in the McElvaney's Waste and Recycling intermediate football championship and 3 in the Greenfield Foods sponsored senior football championship.

IFC

The action gets underway tomorrow evening Friday, August 28th with 2 games in the intermediate series, both sudden death affairs, Currin and Tyholland in Emyvale at 8 PM, the same time as Aughanmullen and Cremartin meet in Inniskeen to decide which of them stays in and who goes out. The following day, Saturday, August 29th sees a double bill in Clontibret with Emyvale taking on Doohamlet at 5.00PM and then a local derby meeting between Carrickmacross and Corduff with that one throwing in at 6:30 PM.

SFC

There are three games in the senior football championship listed for Sunday, two of them sudden death back door games, Inniskeen taking on Magheracloone in Drumhowan at 1:30pm, the same time as Castleblayney and Donaghmoyne meet in Clontibret with the losers exiting the series, while the other game is a first round proper between Truagh and Scotstown, that one in Emyvale at 6:30 PM.

LEAGUES.

As well as those championship matches there are just 2 games in the junior football league this weekend, both on Sunday at 12:30 pm, Oram at home against Aghabog and Blackhill away to Killanny.
