Camogie
Plans are well under-way for our forthcoming fundraiser 'Predict the Score' in Clones on Easter Sunday. As this only involves a commitment of 2 ½ hours from senior and minor players along with as many parents as possible, it is hoped to saturate the streets of Clones in advance of the 'big' game - Monaghan v Dublin. Those available and willing should forward their names to Macartan, Marie, Nóra, Rosemary, the Aislings, Geraldine or any Committee member. Priority for this fundraising event is the purchase of training gear for our underage members, in particular those girls who attend the Thurs evening sessions with Marie, Aisling and Nicola.
Monaghan county camogie minors are scheduled to play Donegal on Saturday, with the resumption of the National Camogie Minor League. However at the time of writing Donegal were still seeking a deferment of this game, so no definite arrangements can be provided here yet. In the event that Donegal are unable to fulfil the fixture a challenge match will be arranged instead for the team. Parents will be kept posted on developments.
Training continues for under-age players on Thursday evening at 5.30, while the seniors will train outdoors at 8.00pm. Sixth class and 2nd level students train at the slightly earlier time of 6.00pm outdoors on Monday evening. County Minor training takes place each Wednesday at 7.30pm in Cloghan.
Finally we continue to send our good wishes to Mary Duffy in St James Hospital. It is 'rumoured' that Mary is using her bed as a trampoline to keep her in peak fitness. Ata girl, you show them Mary!!!!
