Attention in the county now switches to the domestic scene and particularly the club championships which get underway with a bang this weekend, seven matches in all down for decision including the two semi-finals of the Universal Graphics sponsored Junior football championship. The opening round of matches in the Gormley UPVC sponsored senior football championship have already been played so attention this week end centres mainly on the opening round of games in the McGuigan Builders intermediate football championship with five games listed, two on Saturday evening in Clontibret, Cremartin against Corduff at 5:30 PM followed by Sean McDermott's against Inniskeen at 7 PM. Moving to Sunday with three games down for decision, two being staged as a double bill in Scotstown on Sunday evening while the other game between Carrickmacross and Donaghmoyne is at 1:30 PM in Inniskeen. On Sunday evening the action switches to Scotstown where Clones take on Rockcorry at 5:30 PM and the north Monaghan derby between Emyvale and Tyholland is at 7.00PM.

The first of the semi finals in the Universal Graphics sponsored Junior football championship takes place on Saturday evening in Tyholland between Blackhill and Scotstown, that one throwing in at 7 PM while on Sunday the second semi-final between Aughnamullen and Drumhowan is being played as part of a double bill with the intermediate football championship in Inniskeen, the Junior championship semi-final starting at 3.00PM.
Also down for decision on Saturday is the final of the McKeown Cup between Killanny and Truagh, that game fixed for Oram with a starting time of 7.00PM.
