Armagh's appeals fall on deaf ears

Armagh's Kieran Toner
The GAA's Hearings Committee has upheld the one-match bans handed out to Armagh trio Andy Mallon, Brendan Donaghy and Kieran Toner.

The three players were hit with the proposed suspensions following the CCCC's investigation into the pre-match brawl that marred their Ulster SFC quarter-final against Cavan in the Athletic Grounds.

They appeared in front of the Hearings Committee last night and the Irish Independent reports that the charge against them was down-graded to "rough play" but the suspensions still stand.

That means they will be unavailable to manager Paul Grimley for the semi-final clash against holders Monaghan.
