Delight for Ollie Murphy and his Carnaross team mates at Pairc Tailteann

It's now a two horse race for the Keegan Cup. Simonstown, not for the first time this year struggled while Summerhill were impressive. There were also championship title wins for Duleek Bellewstown and Carnaross.

Our Team of the Week

Tony McDonnell Summerhill. No goals conceded and his successful short kick out Strategy was a launching pad for many of the 'Hill' attacks in that semi final win over the Kells men.

Willie Ryan Summerhill. One of the main reason why the much vaunted Gaeil Colmcille full forward line were restricted to just two points from play.

Shane Glynn Wolfe Tones. Another solid showing from the Tones full back. Kept a firm grip on Simonstown danger man Pauric McKeever, restricting him to that late late goal at Pairc Tailteann.

Barry Smith Gaeil Colmcille. Kept going to the very end. Never stopped trying to drive on his team mates under increasing pressure as the Gaeil's went out of the championship at the semi final stage for the third year in a row.

Niall McLoughlin Wolfe Tones. The team captain done his best to inspire his team mates around him. His goal was one of the best seen in Pairc Tailteann this year.

Richie Hatton Summerhill. The team captain showed great leadership. Solid in his defensive duties and showed great drive going forward to help out his midfield and attack.

Brian McGrath Simonstown. The usual confident display of defending and attacking from the Keegen Cup holders talented half back.

Pierce Fleming Carnaross. On this performance alone we wonder why he didn't make the 'Ross' first team. The dominant player in the middle of the park, scoring two points, in that memorable D championship win over Longwood.

Mark McCabe Simonstown. If there were an award for Club Footballer of the Year the versatile McCabe would be an automatic choice. Made some tremendous catches and scored two vital goals as the holders made it back into the final.

Luke Heeney Duleek Bellewstown. Came on in the early stages of the first half and proceeded to give a Man of the Match performance with four valuable points in the Junior C final win over Blackhall Gaels.

Barry Dardis Summerhill. Scored 1-2 and gave the Gaeil Colmcille numerous problems in that semi final win at Pairc Tailteann.

David Larkin Summerhill. The best player on the field as The Hill made it back to a senior championship final. Briliiant work rate and scored three fine points in that win over Gaeil Colmcille.

Seanie Dalton Summerhill. A bundle of energy in the full forward line that Gaeil Colmcille could not handle. Scored three points as Summerhill set up a final date with Simonstown.

Ollie Murphy Carnaross. Celebrated his 42nd birthday in style. The former All Star rolled back the years and scored four points to inspire his team to victory in the Junior D decider.

Nathan O'Brien Simonstown. His first full season has turned out to be a memorable one. A real live wire in the full forward line for the reigning champions and chipped in with 1-2 in that win over Wolfe Tones.
