JFC C: Good win for Duleek Bellewstown

Duleek-Bellewstown recorded their second victory in this year's JCFC by defeating Simonstown at Seneschalstown on Friday evening last.

The first fifteen minutes of was a close encounter with both sides struggling to pull clear - D/B scoring through points from Aaron Seery, Aaron Reilly, Darren Mills (0-3 - 1F) Tony Andrew and Conor Hickey and it was during a 5 min spell midway through the half they scored 5 un-answered points through Darren Mills (0-3 - 1F), Cormac McGroggan (0-1) and Tony Andrews (0-1) to put them six points ahead with 5 mins remaining. Simonstown managed to pull 2 pts points back in the last five mins but D/B added a 2 further points from Tony Andrews and Darren MIlls to leave the half time score D/B 0-14  to Simonstown 0-8.

Simonstown opened the second half with a point on the restart, D/B replied with a point from Robbie Clarke before Padraig McGroggan popped up to put the ball in the back of the Simonstown nett on the 6th mins.  Immediately following the goal Darren Mills pointed to leave the result in no doubt.   With 5 more points for D/B through Tony Andrew, Aaron Seery, Darren Mills (0-2) and substitute Warren Cudden they notched up a very impressive final score of 1-21.

This was an all round good team performance. It's difficult to single out players but George Martin and Conor Hickey had solid performance in defence. Tony Andrews and Darren Mills were in flying form with 14 pts between. Wayne Noone did excellent work, whiles the McGroggan twins were a handful for the Simonstown defence.
