Duleek-Bellewstown recorded a much needed win in the AFL in Duleek on a sunny Sunday afternoon.

St. Colmcilles opened the scoring with a point on 2 mins, the home side replied with 2 pts - Podge Howard and John Flood (free) before the visitors levelled again on the 8th min. John McDonnell then netted after 11 mins to put some day light between the side, the visitors replied with a pts of their own to reduce the margin to 2 pts. Points were exchanged by both teams a free from John Flood before a 12 min spell for the home side resulted in 3 un-answered points - John Flood (f), Conall McGinley (f) and John McDonnell to leave the home team 5 pts clear before St. Colmcilles pointed on the stroke of half time to leave the half time score 1-06 to 0-5.

On the restart St. Colmcilles opened the scoring with 2 pts in the first 5 mins - 3 un-answered pts by D/B through Mick Dowling (0-2) and a free from Conall McGinley regained their 5pt advantage. The visitors pointed to reduce the margin to 4 pts after 11 mins, but a 2 further points - Conall McGinley (f) and a John McDonnell left 6 pts between the sides approaching the final quarter. The visitors reduced the margin with a point on the 22nd minute and could have reduced it to 3 pts but for a great save by Anto Dowling in the D/B nets. A pointed free from John Flood with 5 mins remaining left the result in no doubt and the home side earned a well-deserved victory.
