In Drumconrath

Grade B Quarter Final

North Meath Gaels 0-7 Blackwater Gaels 3-7

Blackwater gained some measure of revenge when defeating North Meath in this Minor Summer League Quarter Final played in Drumconrath.

In what was a close game throughout a flare up with 8 minutes to go saw 4 straight Red Cards handed out by the referee 1 to the home side and 3 to the visitors.

The 1st half had finished level with North Meath minus sharp shooter Daniel Byrne and with player of the match in that League Final James Mooney curtailed with injury it gave normal goal keeper Dominic Yorke a run out field and he managed two 1st half points. Also on the score board were Robert McEntaggart, Mooney and Jack McMahon.

Eoin Muldoon in his 1st Minor game had a good game in goals and there was that Blackwater 1st half goal between the sides when the sending offs occurred 1-7 to 0-7 as Yorke and Mooney had added to North Meaths tally.

Despite being 2 players down Blackwater hit two late goals to progress but that Red mist moment will surely effect their chance of progressing further.
