Brian Smyth - Meath All Ireland winning captain 1949
The July meeting of the Meath County Committee in Dunboyne was graced by the presence of the legendary Brian Smyth, the county's first All-Ireland winning captain in 1949.
Smyth, who celebrated his 90th birthday last year, is one of the committee's honorary presidents. Another president, Pat O'Neill, was also in attendance.
