Blackhall Gaels 1-17
Kilmainhamwood 1-5

Blackhall traveled to Kilmainham on Sunday, looking for two crucial points in the Championship.

The lads started well but it was Kilmainhamwood that opened the scoring. Blackhall soon woke up with Niall Kelly running the balls straight up the field. Around the middle came under the ownership of Blackhall's John O'Brien and Sean Rattigan, as well as sweepers Niall Mangan, Colm Whitty and Kelly again. Andy Brady really came into his own in the corner, scoring 4 brilliant points from play. James Kelly is making a real name for himself in defense, bringing the ball out numerous times as well as some excellent defending all around the field.

The second half saw Blackhall really take off, keeping The 'Wood to a scoreline of a simple point form play. Tommy Coyle continued his expedition of forward play, scoring a whopping 1-7. Although Kilmainhamwood did manage a late goal Blackhall's six scorers kept them well out of danger. The final score was 1-17 to 1-5 with Blackhall firmly in the lead from early on.

Blackhall left Kilmainham with their first win of the championship, and hopefully not their last! A great game for players to come into their own and a real confidence boost for those returning from absences.
