St Brigids notched up their first win on the field of play in the BF League today after receiving two walk overs as they defeated Moynalty in a very one sided game.
Moynalty opened the score with a point in the third minute of the game and it turned out to be their only score of the first half. It took St Brigids till the seventh minute of the game to open their score tally but between that and the end of the first half they had scored two goals and six points. Points coming from Killian Kiernan 0 02, Joseph Blake 0 02 Aron Kiernan 0 02 and goals coming from the evergreen Anthony Doyle 1 0 and a high ball dropping in the net from Dylan Tighe.

Moynalty introduced a few subs and their scoring rate improved in the second half but to no avail as Brigids got another two goals one from Killian Kiernan and a well struck penalty coming from Joseph Blake. They also managed to score another eights points in the second half from some fast moving team work. Brigid's passing and score taking ability made all the difference between themselves and Moynalty at the end of the game. A well deserved point at the end of the game came from Fechin Heery whose work rate at tracking and laying on the ball throughout the game was supberb. Also solid performances came from Kevin Gilsenan, Shane Connell, Shane Gilsenan, Aron Kiernan, Joseph Blake Killian Kiernan and Darach Geraghty
