Unbeaten Na Fianna travelled to Bellewstown to face an under strength Duleek-Bellewstown team.   

Playing with the wind in the first half the visitors opened up a three lead within the first 15 mins - the home side pulled one back through Mark Collins. Na Fianna popped over three more points before a penalty was awarded to Dulee-Bellewstown - Mark Collins stepped up and slotted the ball in the back of the Na Fianna net. A further Na Fianna point and a free from John Flood left two points between the teams at half time.

A point on the re-start from John Flood left the minimum between the sides, before Jamie Queeney pointed a free for Na Fianna. Duleek-Bellewstown rallied and three unanswered points from John Flood, Mark Collins and Conall McGinley (Free) put the home team a point head for the first time midway through the second half. A pointed free from Daniel Queeney drew the sides level for the second time. Duleek-Bellewstown opened up a three point advantage through Shane Crosby, Conall McGinley (Free) John Flood before a mix up in the Duleek-Bellewstown defence allowed Na Fianna in for goal with left the sides level with 3 mins remaining, however this was the visitors last score - two un-answered points in the last few minutes from Mark Collins and a free from Conall McGinley gave Duleek-Bellewstown a two point advantage at full time.

John Flood and Mark Collins performed well up front while our two minors Aaron Seery and Jack Fitzpatrick held their own in defence.

AFL Div 1: Na Fianna Suffer First Loss

Na Fianna were beaten for the first time this year when Duleek/Bellewstown deservedly took the points in Bellewstown on a wet Sunday afternoon.
Jamie Queeney made his return from injury and kicked three first half points while Paul Kennedy kicked a fine long range point on his first start in the AFL. James Geagan (1) and Daniel Queeney (2) completed Na Fianna's first half tally. Playing with a strong breeze in the first half, Na Fianna were only two points up at half time (0-7 to 1-02).

In the second half, against the breeze, Na Fianna struggled to get past midfield. Jamie Queeney kicked an excellent '45' over the bar against the wind, Daniel Queeney pointed a free while a late Dalton McDonagh goal brought the sides level. However, the home side came up the pitch and hit two last minute points for a deserved win.
