Walterstown's Brian O'Connell

Walterstown 2-07
St. Olivers 4-15

Walterstown faced St.Olivers on Saturday afternoon hoping to return to winning ways after their previous round defeat to Skryne, St.Olivers however had only won once all season and were determined to pick up the points.

St.Olivers were first off the mark with a point inside the first minute, Conor Cassidy equalised for Walterstown 2 minutes later. St.Olivers then took control for the next 10 minutes scoring 6 unaswered points to go 6 ahead. Mark Foy reduced the gap to 3 when he put the ball in the back of the net, Conor Cullen added a point a minute later to leave just 2 between the sides. St.Olivers added a further point on the 23rd minute with Michael Donnellan responding a minute later to put it back to a 2 point gap. St Olivers  however finished the half the strongest and went in at the break leading 1-13 to 1-04.

Walterstown shuffled the pack at half time bringing on Jack Donnellan and Andrew Moran coming on for Barry O'Connell and Patrick Donnellan with Brian O'Connell moved up front this looked to have changed things when Walterstown took control in the first 10 minutes of the half however crucially they failed to add much to their half time tally and with St.Olivers then scoring 2 soft goals this left the Walterstown boys with to much to do. They did have a late rally with M.Donnellan adding a goal via a penalty however the gap was to big and St.Olivers ran out deserving 4-15 to 2-07 winners.
