O'Mahonys came out victors in this B Football League Division 6 encounter on Sunday afternoon.

The final score is probably not a fair reflection on the pace of the game as O'Mahonys pulled away with 2-1 scored in the final three minutes of ordinary time to claim an eight point victory. Up to this point there was generally just a kick of the ball between the two sides and but for some goal line saves from Jason Smyth, Summerhill could have had a number of goals on the board.

There were some excellent points taken by both sides with Robbie Keeleghan and Conor Murphy (2) claiming well taken points in the opening quarter before Ciaran O'Hanlon found the back of the net to leave four points between the sides at that stage. Further scores from Kelleghan, Cormac McEntaggart and O'Hanlon saw O'Mahonys take a one goal lead into the break, having played with the wind at their backs in the first half.

Substitute Darragh McGuinness point four between the sides again five minutes after the break before two Summerhill points left just two points between the sides going into the final quarter. McEngaggert restored the Navan sides one goal advantage with 11 minutes remaining. Keeleghan raised the green flag in the twenty eighth minute. This was followed quickly by McEntaggert's hand finding the end of an O'Hanlon cross to palm the ball to the back of the net. A Stephen Monaghan point a minute later was O'Mahonys last score. Summerhill rallied and put two injury time points on the board but O'Mahonys held on to claim a win.
