Walterstown 2-8 Na Fianna 2-7

The lads from Walterstown and Na Fianna treated the large crowd in Dunganny to an absolute thriller on Sunday. Playing with a deceptively strong breeze in the 1st half Walterstown stretched out a 4pt lead despite some wastefulness in front of goal only to be pegged back by a determined Na Fianna side to the minimum at half time. Walterstown 0-5 Na Fianna 0-4.

The 2nd half started off just as cagey as the 1st with Na Fianna spurning a couple of point scoring opportunities before "The Blacks" found their stride and again stretched out to another 4pt lead as they hit the "net" for the 1st time. Na Fianna went up through the gears & found the "onion bag" themselves setting up a grandstand final 10mins where Na Fianna hit the net again to lead for the 1st time in the match only to be pegged back immediately by Walterstown who struck for their 2nd goal of the game.

As the clock wound down the Walterstown defence stood firm and suppressed the Na Fianna attack to secure a hard fought & merited victory.
