Killary Emmets 3-9 Bective/Dunsany 0-12

DESPITE failing to register in the opening 10 minutes and the final 18, Killary Emmets booked a MFC Division 3 final spot at Syddan on Bank Holiday Monday.

Bective/Dunsany scored the opening two points but Killary were always in control after Sean Clare blasted to the net following a pass from Daire Rowe on 11 minutes.

The lead extended to eight points at one stage in the opening half and it finished 2-6 to 0-5 at the break.

Rowe struck for his sides second goal and JJ O'Dea, Clare, Conor Weldon and Brian Carroll all found the range with points in that opening period.

The impressive Cathal McConnell kept the visitors in touch with a succession of points.

All of Killary's second half scores arrived in a 12 minute spell in the third quarter. Clare and Rowe (two) had points before Conor Weldon netted to leave it 3-9 to 0-7.

Killary took their foot off the gas after that allowing Bective/Dunsany to hit five unanswered points. McConnell was again on target with three of those scores but the winners lead was never seriously threatened.

Killary await the winners of the other semi-final between St Patrick's and North Meath Gaels.
