There was two Intermediate championship games down for decision tonight. Finalists from last year, Clann Na nGael and Gaeil Colmcille are out of the race.

In Millbrook, Ballinlough overcame Clann Na nGael in the preliminary football quarter final. The winners aided by a converted penalty from Derek Muldoon led 1-5 to 0-4. Clann Na nGael were only to score twice in the second half while fine points from Kevin Devine, Benji Smith, Sean Geraghty and Johnny Reilly gave Ballinlough a convincing win.

The Reds now move onto a quarter final meeting with Dunderry next weekend in Moylagh.

Meanwhile in Pairc Tailteann the hurlers of Dunderry overcame Gaeil Colmcille 0-14 to 0-9 to reach the semi final where they will take on Ratoath.
