St Brigids 2-15
Simonstown 3-6

St Brigids got off to a poor start in this final game in the group stage of the Junior Championship. They conceeded two goals in the first few minutes but the team showed great character as they scored 1-4 before Simonstown could reply. The comeback began with a point by Ryan Tighe and a free by Fergal Hennesssy after Killian Kiernan was fouled. Hennessy added a second point soon after and Killian scored his first of the day after his brother Karl pounced on a break in midfield.

Conor Farrelly kicked a ball into the square and Michael Flood was the player who got on the end of it and he made no mistake in rifling the ball past the Simonstown keeper to get St Brigid's first goal. Michael Flood was fouled soon after this while trying to break through the Simonstown defence and it was Fergal Hennessy who pointed the free. Killian Kiernan was then unable to get through the opposing defence but managed to lay the ball out to Hennessy who again finished the ball over the bar. Oisin Kiernan and Fergal Hennessy scored one point each to ensure St Brigids trailed by the minimum at the interval. Fergal Hennessy scored the opening point of the second half for the Brigids. Simonstown were then on the attack but the St Brigids defence held strong and Daragh Geraghty cleared the ball out to midfield and the team managed to work the ball up to Killian Kiernan who slotted the ball over the bar. Brendan Gibson caught a high ball ahead of the Simonstown defence and he picked out Killian with a pass and Killian slotted the ball past the Simonstown keeper to get a second goal for St Brigids. The Kiernan brothers , Killian and Oisin were again on hand to put the Brigids three points ahead of Simonstown and into the driving seat. Stephen Browne made a strong run up the field and he found Ryan Tighe with a pass and Tighe kicked the ball over the bar. Oisin thne scored a free from along the right hand sideline after Stephen Skelly was fouled to put five points between the teams.
