BFL4: Disappointing end for Carnaross

Carnaross finished a disappointing B League campaign with a heavy defeat to Oldcastle which ultimately resulted in relegation.

Going into the game Carnaross had to win to avoid the drop, but had to beat promotion chasing Oldcastle to achieve survival. It became obvious early on the there was only going to be one outcome when Oldcastle surged clear registering 1-7 in the opening fifteen minutes while the only reply for Carnaross was a solitary point from Michael Brogan. The visitors continued their domination adding another 1-3 before the break, while Stephen Dawson double the Carnaross account to leave them trailing 2-10 to 0-2.

Oldcastle added 1-2 without reply in the opening ten minutes of the second-half. Carnaross replied with a point apiece from Dean Connell and Tadgh Skelly but this proved to be the final tally for Carnaross as Oldcastle pushed on and added five more points before the final whistle to complete a comprehensive victory.
