JFC B: Duleek/Bellewstown too good for Walterstown

Walterstown knew they would be up for a tough match when playing Duleek-Bellewstown as their opponents were unbeaten in the Junior B Championship while the Blacks had recorded just one win. Walterstown also struggled to field a team with just 16 turning up on the day.

Duleek/Bellewstown started the strongest scoring the first two points of the match, however points from Derek McDonnell from a free and Vinny Murphy brought the blacks back level after 5 minutes of the game. Walterstown remained in touch with 20 minutes gone when they were just two points behind following two further frees from D.McDonnell to leave the score - Duleek/Bellewstown 0-6 v Waltertown 0-4.

Duleek/Bellewstown, however upped the pressure and the Blacks crumbled for the rest of the half with Duleek/Bellewstown scoring 3-05 to Walterstowns single point to leave the half time score - Duleek/Bellewstown 3-11 v Walterstown 0-5.

The second half continued in the same way as the first half finished with Duleek/Bellewstown scoring 1-10 before Walterstown registered their first and only point of the half from C.Farrelly after 16 minutes. Duleek/Bellewstown continued to dominate finishing the game with 5 goals and 2 points leaving the blacks to suffer a heavy 44 point defeat.
