Schools: Baconstown complete the double

Baconstown added the Allianz Cumann Na mBunscol Division 2 hurling title to their memorable Division 1 camogie crown won on the opening day with a comfortable win over Kill NS.

Baconstown NS 5-6 Kill NS 1-3

Two goals from Anthony Healy gave the winners a 2-1 to 1-2 interval lead. Nathan Fahy got a goal and a point for Kill in the opening half. The introduction of double medal winner Kerrie Cole had a major bearing on the second half. Patrick Jordan scored 1-3 for the winners in this period while Christopher Nolan and Michael Heffernan raised green flags.

Baconstown dominated this grade from 2010 to 2014. After the game joint captains Eoin Bright and Rian Forde were presented with the Division 2 hurling cup.
