Horan plumps for Kerry

James Horan believes Kerry will trump Dublin on Sunday because they have a better midfield and attack.

In his Irish Daily Star column, the former Mayo manager writes: "I have a feeling that Sam Maguire is staying in Kerry. They look stronger in midfield and I think [Eamonn Fitzmaurice] will have his best defence on the field.

"Dublin have some class forwards, but Kerry's armoury up front looks better to me."

Horan says Dublin can ill-afford to be without Cian O'Sullivan, who suffered a recurrence of a hamstring injury in the closing stages of the semi-final replay win over Mayo.

"It does look as if Cian O'Sullivan mightn't be capable of starting - or he won't be at 100 per cent if he does start.

"That is a huge blow, as I really think he has become Dublin's most important player. O'Sullivan reads the game brilliantly - something that has become clear from the high camera that is now used at matches.

"O'Sullivan goes on the front foot and just drives Dublin forward. He's understated and unsung, and never spectacular, but he is incredibly effective."
