Cillian O'Connor spoke of his admiration for St. Brigid's and what they have achieved after his late goal helped Ballintubber to a 3-10 to 1-13 victory over the 2013 All-Ireland champions yesterday.

Ballintubber will now meet Corofin in the Connacht club SFC final on Sunday week, November 23 and All Star O'Connor wants to keep the winning run going.

"They (Corofin) would be the second team in Connacht who have almost transformed into a county set-up," he said in the Western People.

"We hear about them and we work with some of them and we know about the professionalism they have. We're only a relatively new senior club, we're not up that long and we're trying to get like those clubs and we're trying to be like them.

"To get these wins is brilliant, it's brilliant for a small parish, it'll be brilliant for young lads in the club who want to come out now and play with us. It's massive and we want to keep going."

On St. Brigid's, O'Connor added: "We've been admiring them for the last few years and rightly so, they've raised the bar for every club in Connacht.

"They're almost like a county team, their set-up is unbelievable, they have great management, they have a massive squad as well and lots of inter-county players so they would have been a model we would have looked at in the last few years and to get to play then and beat them is brilliant."
