Seamus O'Shea was already looking forward to Mayo's All-Ireland SFC semi-final against Kerry after this afternoon's quarter-final double-header.

Kerry's defeat of Galway, coupled with Mayo's one-point victory over the Rebels, has paved the way for the clash of the Munster and Connacht champions on August 24.

"Kerry have been playing fierce well," the big midfielder told RTE Radio.

"They beat Cork well, they have been moving awful well all year. That's going to be a very tough game - you'd expect nothing different in an All-Ireland semi-final."

The Breaffy man wasn't surprised by the ferociously of Cork's challenge.

"People were saying coming into today that we should win because Cork hadn't been playing well up until that," he noted.

"But we knew that there was a good bit of a kick in Cork and that it was going to be tight. (We're) maybe not delighted with the performance, but certainly delighted to get the win and move on."
