Holmes steps down

Pat Holmes has stepped down as manager of All-Ireland club finalists Castlebar Mitchels.

The former Mayo manager has decided not to stay on for a third year despite having guided the club to Mayo and Connacht titles.

He took over from Peter Forde and Tommy O'Malley in 2011 and informed the club of his decision 24 hours after Monday's final loss to St Vincent's.
