Connacht FBD League: Keegan and Feeney show the way forward

January 17, 2013

Mayo's Lee Keegan. INPHO
MAYO 2-14
GMIT 0-6

Lee Keegan and Richie Feeney moved from defence into attack for last night's FBD Connacht League clash against GMIT and provided manager James Horan with plenty of food for thought.

Keegan sent over three points while Feeney netted the All-Ireland finalists' opening goal in the 20th minute.

Alan Freeman also caught the eye for the winners and finished the game with seven points to his credit.

Feeney's goal boosted Mayo to a 1-9 to 0-2 half-time lead and he then turned provider for Conor O'Shea to bag their team's second goal with 20 minutes left on the clock.
