Leinster club JFC: Emmets ease into next round

Louth champions Glen Emmets eased into the next round of the Leinster Junior Club Championship thank to a 14-point win over Conahy Shamrocks in Kilkenny on Saturday afternoon.

The Tullyallen men started slowly and conceded an early goal but they soon found their rhythm and dominated the remainder of the contest to run out comfortable winners.

The Kilkenny side opened the scoring with a goal after just two minutes, but their  joy was short lived as Damien Grimes responded with a three-pointer at the other end to settle his team.

The visitors went ahead through a Ronan Grufferty score before Keelan O'Neill added a second goal on 14 minutes to make it 2-1 to 1-0 and by the time they reached the break the lead was 2-4 to 1-3.

The home side offered little resistance in the second half as Glen Emmets cruised to victory. Mark Garvey struck for the third goal on 46 minutes while James Butler, Keith Boylan and Grufferty added points.
