UNDER 21 HURLERS

Our under 21 hurlers finally got their defence off to a winning start with a good victory over Garryspillane in Martinstown on St Patricks Day.

Have received an opening round walkover from South Liberties, The management were delighted to finally get the show on the road.

Two first half goals from Peter Casey and Conor Boylan put us well in control along with point frees from Ronan Lynch and Peter Casey to leave us 2 -8 to 0-5 in front at the break.

Jerome Boylan, Gearoid Synnott and Sean Long hurling well in the backs supplying good ball forward along with Kieran Daly in midfield.

Up front we had plenty of danger with the atrack spear headed by Tommy Grimes and Conor Boylan who were ably assisted by Kevin Daly and Daniel Long.

Our third goal came from the stick of substitute Reuben McCarthy following some great work by Kevin Daly.

Overall a very satisfying performance and one which puts us into a County semi final.

Final Score: Na Piarsaigh 3-17 Garryspillane 0-9.

Team: Eoghan Foley, Jerome Boylan, Mike Andrews, Gearoid Synnott,  Evan O Brien,  Ronan Lynch(0-5),,  Sean Long,  Kieran Daly,  Joe Gleeson,  Peter Casey(0-6,3f),  Tommy Grimes (0-1), Daniel Long (0-2), Kevin Daly,  Conor Boylan  (1-2), William Henn  (0-1). Subs; Reuben McCarthy  (1-0)
