Naomh Fionnbarra club notes

February 08, 2016

There was no jackpot winner in Naomh Fionnbarra G.F.C. and St. Anne's Camogie Club Lotto draw held on Wednesday 3rd February. The winning numbers were 5, 16, 17, 25. There were 3 match 3 winners Patrick Butterly, Duddestown, Darren Noone, The Saltings, Annagassan and Lorcan Callan c/o Brian Callan who won €50 each. Next weeks jackpot stays at €10,000, with the reserve jackpot rising to €6,850. Tickets are available from the usual local outlets, Lotto sellers and any committee member. Funds raised from our Lotto draw go towards the running of the club and your support is greatly appreciated.

There was carnage in week 2 of the club's Last Man Standing Competition for the National Football League. Of the 186 entries that made it through to the 2nd round only 84 are though to the 3rd round.  Roscommon caused the most damage with their hard fought win against Kerry followed by Laois who also upset the odds against the Orchard County.  Hard luck to the 102 people who have been eliminated after week 2.  The League now goes on a 2 week break and re-commences on 27th February.

Following the excellent double victory in the Louth Junior Championship and the Louth Minor B Championship last year Naomh Fionnbarra G.F.C. hosting a Presentation Night on Saturday 13th February at 8pm in the Grove House, Dunleer to acknowledge the winning teams. All players and both management teams will be guests of honour on the night and will be presented with their winning championship medals along with ladies player Shauna Markey who was a winning member of the Louth Ladies All Ireland winning panel. All guests will be treated to a 2 course meal and entertainment will be provided by local band Caution on what promises to be a great night for the whole club. Tickets priced €25 are on sale now and can be bought from Thomas McQuillan - 0868719285, Brenda Flynn 0863739449 or Sharon Kearney - 0860892744.

Naomh Fionnbarra G.F.C. & St. Anne's Camogie Club Strictly At the Movies takes place on April 9th 2016 in the Tommy Leddy Theatre Drogheda.  A well attended launch night was held in Darby's Pub Togher last Thursday.  Calling all men of Togher - from age 18 to 80; we need your help!! The ladies are showing us up with over 20 female volunteers for the Finbarrs and St Anne's forthcoming Strictly At the Movies.  If you are interested in taking part, please contact Mark on 087-6777096 or any member of the committee.  This is mighty craic - an experience you won't regret. So come on men - you don't need any experience - just get out and strut your stuff!!

Please don't forget that club membership is now due for 2016 and may be paid to any committee member.  The club plan to hold a Membership Registration Day for all members (Men, Ladies & Juveniles) on Sunday 27th February.

The club would like to express our deepest sympathy to the family of Patsy Corrigan, Farm Road, Annagassan who passed away recently.  May he Rest In Peace.
