Naomh Fionnbarra & St. Annes Club Notes

There was no jackpot winner in Naomh Fionnbarra G.F.C. and St. Anne's Camogie Club Lotto draw held on Wednesday 23rd September.  The winning numbers were 4, 10, 12, 18. There were 4 match 3 winners Frank Jones, Annagassan, Máirtín Murphy Annagassan, Paul Tiernan, Clonmore & Frank McGrath c/o Anne who won €38 each.  Next weeks jackpot stays at €10,000, with the reserve jackpot rising to  €4,450.   Tickets are available from the usual local outlets, Lotto sellers and any committee member.  Funds raised from our Lotto draw go towards the running of the club and your support is greatly appreciated.

Well done to the Naomh Fionnbarra/Lannleire U-18 team who beat Clan na Gael on Wednesday 23rd September 2-17(23) to 3-8(17) in the Louth Minor B Championship Semi Final. The lads now play local rivals Clogherhead Dreadnots in the Final and will be looking for revenge after they beat them in the League Semi Final earier this year. Now we have 2 Championship Finals to look forward to. Up the Barrs!

On Thursday 24th September the Naomh Fionnbarra/Lannleire U-15 team beat St. Nicholas 3-9(18) to 2-3(9) in Division 3 League Round 7 in Drogheda.  Well done lads.

Also, a huge well done to our Naomh Fionnbarra Ladies player Shauna Markey who was part of the Louth Ladies panel that beat Scotland on a scoreline of 4-12(24) to 0-2(2) in the All-Ireland Junior Championship Final in Croke Park on Sunday 27th September. Up Louth.

The build up continues for the Louth Junior Championship Final v Roche Emmets on Sunday 11th October at Páirc Uí Mhuirí, Dunleer.  A big day out for players, committee members and supporters is expected so please get the flags and bunting up around the parish.  Green & Gold flags and car flags are on sale in both local shops Carrons - Togher and Sean O'Neills - Annagassan. Up the Barrs!

Naomh Fionnbarra Ladies GFC will be holding a Fundraising Clothes' Collection on this Saturday 3rd Oct from 9am-3pm in the Naomh Fionnbarra Clubrooms, Ballygassan. Please donate all your clean unwanted clothes also bed linen, towels, curtains, shoes, bags, belts and soft toys. We need to reach a min target of 200kg so everyone's support would be greatly appreciated. A chance to do that long over due spring clean while supporting your local club. Please spread the word to family, friends & neighbours too!!!

All members please not that due to a change in Facebook regulations we had to delete our old Naomh Fionnbarra Facebook page.  We now have a new community page called Official Naomh Fionnbarra GAA which has all the up to date Finbarrs news and reports so please like the new page.  This page will cater for Naomh Fionnbarra men, ladies and juveniles.

Our juveniles presentation and final training session of the year was held at the clubrooms on Thursday 24th September where members of the Junior Championship Finalists team presented all of our team winners with their medals.  Well done to all teams for the hard work and training that they did over the year and all teams made great improvements.
