Ciaran Byrne has become the latest GAA player to make his AFL debut.
The 20-year-old former Louth starlet was introduced in the third quarter of Carlton's 84-105 defeat to Essendon. Byrne's parents were at the MCG to witness his Aussie Rules bow.
Byrne, who started all four of Louth's 2013 SFC games as an 18-year-old in 2013, will be hoping for more game time when the Blues face St. Kilda next Saturday.
Despite playing just over a quarter as the sub, @Ciaran_Byrne94 was excellent in his debut. Congrats, "Casey". #AFLBluesDons #NAVYBLUES
