Westerns maintained their challenge for the Division 3 league title with a tenth win from ten outings as they defeated Glen Emmets by 0-15 to 1-9.

Just days after losing the Junior Championship Final, the Emmets weren't at their best and at the break were facing a 0-8 to 0-2 deficit.

They improved in the second half but the Westerns remained on top and scores from Tommy Durnin and Trevor Baylon helped secure a vital victory.

Sean McDermotts continued their pursuit of a play-off place when they had a comfortable 4-14 to 0-2 win over Cuchulainn Gaels.

The Mountrush side got on top from the outset and at the break were leading by 1-9 to 0-2 thanks to a Peter Osborne goal.

The win was completed in the second period when Kevin Carroll, Martin Duffy and TJ Duffy hit the net.

Dowdallshill enjoyed their biggest win of the season when they defeat John Mitchels by 3-16 to 2-8 at St Brigid's Park on Saturday.

Noel Finnegan was the scoring hero on the day when he scored a total of 3-4 with one of the goals coming from the penalty spot. Indeed it was a game of penalties as the visitors' two goals both came from the spot.

In the remaining game, St Kevins conceded a walk-over to Lannleire to see the Dunleer men remain in fifth place.
