Former Galway ladies football star Niamh Fahey helped Chelsea to an historic Women's FA Cup triumph today.

In the first Women's FA Cup final to be held at Wembley, and with a record 30,710 crowd looking on, striker Ji So-yun scored the only goal before half-time to give the Blues a 1-0 victory over Notts County and their first major trophy.

For Fahey, who lined out in defence, it was a fifth FA Cup medal, having won four with her former club Arsenal in 2009, '11, '13 and last year.

Niamh is a sister of ex-Galway defenders Gary and Richie Fahey, the former having captained the Tribesmen to their last All-Ireland success in 2001.
