"Stay off the pitch" appeal falls on deaf ears

Half time puc around at Cusack Park Mullingar

It's only a few weeks since Westmeath GAA issued an appeal to clubs and spectators to stay off the pitch at Cusack Park during the half-time intervals.

A health and safety notice was sent out to clubs following an 'incident' which happened at the Mullingar venue during a local senior hurling championship game.

The notice read: "In the interest of health and safety, and following an incident in Cusack Park over the weekend, we are advising clubs that there will be nobody (adults or children) allowed onto the pitch during the half-time intervals of matches.

"Please circulate this info within your clubs, also the same should apply to all club grounds."

However, as our picture from last weekend shows, the message clearly hasn't got through to everyone...
