Hogan to recall his time in Crumlin Hospital on 'Thank GAA it's 2014'

December 22, 2014

Richie Hogan will be on Thank GAA its 2014

In a heartwarming holiday special, Thank GAA It's 2014  speaks to Kilkenny's Richie Hogan about his award winning year, his memories of his own Crumlin Hospital experience and the opportunity to 'give back' to some of his biggest fans.

As a young child, Hogan spent two months in the hospital with a serious condition called 'ataxia'.  It confined him to a wheelchair and threatened both his health and future sporting ambitions.

After a year which saw Hogan inspire 'The Cats' to yet another historic All Ireland victory and crowned Hurler of the Year, he will spread Christmas cheer among Crumlin's patients and staff.

For Hogan, it is retracing familiar steps.

The programme will also relive the highlights of the exciting GAA Championship past, with a mix of A-List names, grassroots human-interest stories and issues based features.

St Stephen's Day at 6pm on RTÉ 2.
