Oh Lord, Hadn't heard it until I saw the thread. A man I used to see regularly and an absolute legend of the game. May he Rest in Peace.

Was never lucky enough to see him play but I have a neighbour who over the years often told me we had big problems at centre back with O'Mahony and lately the two Mahers being far from the answer to our problems and weren't a patch on Roche.

I never saw the man play but my dad always banged on about him over pretty much any other Tipp player from the great side of the 60s.

Very sad to see him go at only 73 years of age.
