So much for the whingers on here banging on about the unstoppable blue machine, the various 'advantages', the full time coaches, the population, the home advantage, the millions in games devlopment grants and whatever other excuse you can come up with for your own county's failings. That's the blue minors now out, U21s also out. Well done Meath on proving that there is no substitute for hard work and belief. At the end of the day it's 15 v 15 and a leather ball. Split Meath in two! Let's hope the seniors can buck the trend this year. Joxer (Dublin) - Posts: 4700 - 21/05/2016 17:15:36 1857052 Link 2 |

So a couple of your underage teams lose therefore the advantages are a myth? Jaysus I didn't realise every county was on exact level footing! It could be lietrims year any year now! blackspot91 (Limerick) - Posts: 1055 - 21/05/2016 18:03:06 1857066 Link 0 |
what advantages? 15 v 15 all day long

If all the money spent on coaches was the main reason for success it should be most obvious at underage level. Yet underage in Leinster is competitive and Dublin certainly are not dominating nationally in minor or U21. Maybe results like this will help people realise their senior success is mainly down to having an outstanding group of players come together at the one time. I think it helped Meath to have the game in Navan.Far too many underage games between both sides are played in Dublin.

Well done to Meath. Hard luck to Dublin. Last year Kildare and Longford were in the final? This year, hopefully we may get another pairing- good for the competition it has to be said..

Fair enough opinion to have but why are the dubs receiving this financial advantage?

Actually it was 15 vs 14, red card was a turning point. TheUsername (Dublin) - Posts: 4445 - 21/05/2016 19:37:27 1857097 Link 0 |
Red card wasn't turning point. Meath well in control and 6 points up when he got line

Excellent result, well done to our minors, first big result for Meath football in quite a while, our seniors have been up to nothing for years now, so hopefully the young lads can give the aul lads a boost! Htaem (Meath) - Posts: 8657 - 21/05/2016 20:26:15 1857109 Link 1 |
All jokes aside, this is an important win for Meath football, time for the football people of the Royal county to draw from it. KerryKillers (Dublin) - Posts: 711 - 21/05/2016 20:43:44 1857114 Link 3 |
Indeed its very important to build on, this is Meath football biggest win in 6 years, but it will count for little if they don't push on and win Leinster. royaldunne (Meath) - Posts: 19449 - 21/05/2016 20:59:05 1857118 Link 0 |
Kerrykillers I hope so,but they need to go on and win Leinster now.. ziggy32001 (Meath) - Posts: 8354 - 21/05/2016 21:08:28 1857124 Link 0 |
