Was that not an obvious straight red? 1914 (Clare) - Posts: 92 - 30/08/2015 15:53:25 1777988 Link 0 |

Yep - how McQuillan can see it then deem it a yellow is beyond me. Though no Black there for a pull back on jersey shows the standard of refs we have. Offside_Rule (Antrim) - Posts: 4058 - 30/08/2015 16:05:56 1778003 Link 0 |
No bottle for the occasion. Mayo shout was more a penalty than the one the dubs got Doylerwex (Wexford) - Posts: 2661 - 30/08/2015 16:08:15 1778009 Link 0 |

yes and how did O'Sullivan not get a black?! ziggy32001 (Meath) - Posts: 8354 - 30/08/2015 16:12:34 1778016 Link 0 |
Offside, re the jersey pullback, the ref is right - the black card is only allowed when a player is pulled to ground. So, cynical and all as it was, the ref was right, it's a flaw in the wording of the rule. After seeing that first half, this neutral now hopes Dublin are beaten, a hell of a lot of mean stuff going on. 1914 (Clare) - Posts: 92 - 30/08/2015 16:13:23 1778018 Link 0 |
I am thinking exactly the same thing. It was a red card every day of the week. It was a deliberate kick. Cian O'Sullivan not getting a card of any description is also wrong. Some amount of sledging by the Dublin defenders - however of course it is only Tyrone that do that..or so we are told anyway bennybunny (Cork) - Posts: 3917 - 30/08/2015 16:13:31 1778019 Link 0 |
that IS a black card,its a cynical foul,he was not trying to tackle therefore black card ziggy32001 (Meath) - Posts: 8354 - 30/08/2015 16:14:31 1778022 Link 0 |
Doyler, there's a chance the Dub penalty was for a tug committed outside the square, very tight call. Don't think O'Shea was fouled though. 1914 (Clare) - Posts: 92 - 30/08/2015 16:14:49 1778023 Link 0 |
After the furore around Tiernan McCann for what I considered harmless playacting, I wonder what the media response to Cooper's lunge will be. Lots of hitting off the ball and it's not all being picked up on camera. But that was more than reckless from Cooper. It was blatant attempt to hurt a player. Straight red but a 3 Match ban should follow. Scum bag tackle and Mr Dublin who's sadly reffing today was never going to issue a red. Jack_Goff (Meath) - Posts: 2920 - 30/08/2015 16:16:23 1778031 Link 0 |
Have to laugh at Jim Gavin. Every interview he gives. We play football how it should be played! Former_Poster (Meath) - Posts: 394 - 30/08/2015 16:18:52 1778033 Link 0 |
Fair enough - should have been a yellow then. That's one thing I don't get though - I would have thought pulling a player down by the shirt from behind was cynical and therefore a black. I have seen players black carded in club games for the same move so the ref in those games must have been wrong to issue the black. I dont have any time for diving but that tackle was a disgrace. Could have easily broke his leg. I would rather have a player dive than try to viciously hurt another player. kevin03 (Tyrone) - Posts: 276 - 30/08/2015 16:24:59 1778047 Link 0 |

Offside, I agree with you - it's a poorly-worded rule a and its not even a yellow card in itself, just a regular free! Hopefully something that gets sorted out in the future. Ziggy, maybe they're going quiet in their criticism after the President having a go! Not... 1914 (Clare) - Posts: 92 - 30/08/2015 16:30:09 1778052 Link 0 |
Dead right ziggy. Woeful analysis . Very little attention given to the Dublin penalty . Trip was outside the penalty area. Greengrass (Louth) - Posts: 6031 - 30/08/2015 16:31:40 1778054 Link 0 |
