Tipp surely owe Kilkenny one at this stage. They NEED to win this.

Kilkenny by 6. There's nobody near them at the moment.

All depends of course of how much both teams want to win it. Kilkenny, as usual, want to win everything in sight, so it will be service as usual in determination. Tipperary won't be lacking in determination, either, considering their poor showing last year. Tipperary, though, i feel have superior fire power.

I'm going to stick my neck out and say Tipp by 4. The graph is on an upwards curve, Kilkenny have to come to Thurles and Tipp need it more.

Having said that, Cody is a bit cuter than Davy Fitz and I can't see KK allowing Tipp the space they had against Clare.

Tipps shooting from tight angles was sublime against Clare, where they were able to get a bit of space out on the wings, was it just one of those days that went right for them or are the forwards ready to step up on a consistent basis? I'm still not convinced, but no doubt KK defence will be more into man marking than Davy Fitz and his flooding of zones and this may hamper Tipp in the scoring stakes.

At the other end I think JJ may struggle with direct ball into him where he was once so strong, but I don't think Tipp have the type of forward that Glynn is and maybe won't make hay there.

I do like the cut of some of the new faces in the Kilkenny defence and now they don't look to be so short on pace as they looked last year.

Colin Fennelly to get two goals and get the Cats over the line in Thurles.
