Coney out of pocket

This is a perfect example of how the GAA dont look after their players. These players ARE the GAA. Now we have the situation where an injury has caused a player to go months with out making a penny.
The big men have no problem making thousands upon thousands of pounds from the players playing but when it comes to paying something back, they dont wanna know. Disgrace to be honest.

stall the digger will yeh.............he's out off work a little over a month.............probably hasn't all his required documentation submitted for anywhere near that time............so stop making alarmist claims and false/unfounded accusations.........please.............it takes time to process things...........it's not as if he's gone months on end without some sort of payment............he's get his money.

Because he's a county footballer and one from tyrone he probably will be looked after - but ask any one who has filled up a gaa insurance form or tried to claim from it - it is a poor scheme - and the player and the club are left to pick up the pieces...

Yeah..I didn't read into this that Kyle is in dire straits as he says the GPA and Sean Cavanagh are on the case.

Kyle was very accomodating after the Mongahan game and took loads of time with the kids to sign autograph's and pose for photo's. Hope he can come back as soon as possible and stronger (though the injury repair sounds awful). Sad given he was starting to show his worth. We could certainly do with him.

At least there is a scheme. Try being an amateur rugby and soccer player in this country when you're injured. A colleague of mine was injured playing rugby. Compensation for work missed ?? Don't make me laugh. He paid all his medical bills. He told me that that was the way things were done.

We play sport at our own risk.

The GAA Injury Funds aims to help a little.

Any one who wants Insurance has to pay, Only this week Vhi sent out an offer for Players €840 PA incl of tax relief, so real cost €1,000.

So those of you who want great cover feel free to ring Vhi. If paying the Injury Fund pittance, well..................

Club Tyrone will hardly see Coney stuck ?????????????????

Reading the report, he has just filled the forms, so reporter is just using him to concoct a non story

Greengrass, soccer clubs have to have player covered, the more you pay the better level of cover you get.
