The GAA holds the number 1 priority for a family that has just won €11.3 million

Ireland's newest millionaires will be putting their dream holiday on hold in order to fulfil GAA commitments.

One lucky Dublin family recently came forward to claim their €11.3m jackpot, which was won last Saturday, and revealed that they'll be staying put until at least next August as the GAA calendar takes priority.

Speaking to Independent.ie, the man, who is a civil servant, revealed that he and his wife discovered that they'd won on Sunday evening.

"Last Sunday was just a typical Sunday. I had cooked dinner for us and the kids as usual and I sat down in the evening to watch the football on TV. I turned on the news afterwards and I watched in disbelief as the winning shop was revealed," he told Independent.ie.

"Due to my commitments with the GAA, any long holidays will be on hold until at least August but we might enjoy a short break away," he added.

The jackpot was the second biggest prize won this year, with the ticket having been sold at a Spar Store on Amiens Street in Dublin.
